Rumor seems to be June Jones who went 24-28 at SMU, 58 years old. Way to reach for the sky Sun Devils! Good thing you got him before some other top notch program swooped him up. Didn't see that one coming. I don't care who you are.....that's funny!

The record doesn't show it all.  His first season the team went 1-11, ever since then, he has had them in bowl games.

He did wonders at Hawaii & SMU & if he can bring that success here, it's going to be a fun ride..

Not my first or even second choice, but obviously ASU sees something in him.  He isn't coming cheap, that's for sure.  We probably could have gotten several other high profile coaches for less than what they are going to pay him.

He runs a wide open and very fast offense, that's for sure. I do not think that anybody saw that signing coming. You just wonder that if he can go to the next level in college. He will be fun to watch if nothing else. I just assumed that they would go bigger.

Yeah, but, in Conference USA, his last 3 years have been:
2009 --- 8-5
2010 --- 7-6
2011 --- 7-5 so far.

That is hardly a pwerhouse conference.  Will ASU fans / alumni be happy with those numbers?  I also hear that a lot of boosters / alumni / contributors are very unhappy about this hire.

He certainly is a decent coach.  But I think not what most ASU fans were hoping for.

What kind of cluster **** is going on up there?  :D Now EPN issaying ASU withdrew the offer after making the offer.  Supposedly, they were just working out the details.  I guess some REALLY big boosters / donors were very unhappy about the JJ hire.

After this fiasco, what decent coach in his right mind would  agree to coach for that school?  At least while Lisa Love is AD.  Right now, she is ASU's biggest liability.  I almost feel sorry for you poor ASSU supporters..................................................................................ALMOST, but not quite

I sure hope they don't get Jones.  Jones is a phenomenal coach, very under-rated and highly repected.  If ASU somehow gets Jones, I'd honestly think that's just as good as UofA getting Rodriguez.

He really is that good of a coach.
