Roadside Chicken

Here is a recipe from a buddy of mine on another site. This stuff is soooooo good!!

Roadside Chicken

1 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup veg oil
1/4 cup worcestershire sauce
1 TBS Sea or Kosher salt
1 TBS white sugar
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp white pepper
1/2 tsp celery salt

Mix/shake till well dissolved. I put mine in a old worcestershire bottle with the shaker top. You can marrinate the chicken in the sauce for up to 2 hrs before cooking. If so discard marinade and make fresh for the cooking sauce. I apply the sauce every15 min to both sides and turn every 15 min. Apply one final coating 5 min before removing from the grill. You can't put too much sauce on while grilling. It will build up a nice layer of flavors. I use the kettle but i think it would do well on the WSM with no water pan and a high heat cook. I usally add one small piece of apple wood while grilling also. Hope you like it.

Going to try this on rotisserie chicken we are going tonight on the gasser, I picked up a cheap add on rotisserie motor that I modded to fit the Weber Genesis so we will see how well it works!.. ;) Just tasting the sauce it would be great on a salad!!!

I think I'll try that, but  kick it up a notch with
olive oil, honey, apple cider vinegar, 1/2 large yellow onion, 8 cloves garlic, 1 spear celery
( and rest of ingredients) whizzed up in a food processor

Yummmm, passed the "wife test". It's a great marinade

I used drumsticks, and half smoked/ half grilled them for about 70 minutes.  THe "dressing" is pretty sensitive to heat , what w/ the oil, worcestershire( molasses in there), and bit of honey/sugar, so if you're going to grill- do not leave unattended- or you'll come back to black chicken.

Man my gasser looks disgusting in these flash pics...but here is the chicken with the ghetto fabbed rotisserie and the road side chicken juice.  I just sprinkled it on every 15 mins.

Turned out very good...no meat left after dinner but I did use the carcass to make chicken and rice soup!
