Title: West side pellets
Post by: azcharlie on October 28, 2011, 08:59:04 pm
I live on the west side of the valley 91st Ave. and Olive. I was at BBQ Island today looking for apple wood pellets and all they had were 30# bags.

I want to try different types of woods. So what I am looking for is some place that has smaller quantise of apple, cherry and hickory wood pellets. Hopefully someone knows of such a place on the west side.

Thanks for any help
Charlie

I found some smokehouse brand pellets at Sportsmens Warehouse. Has anyone used this brand before and what is your opinion of them.

I know Mike at BBQ Island is looking at having smaller bags made.  But don't worry about buying a big bag, it will be good for a while.  We used some of the Cherry from BBQ Island for the first time at the Boo Bash event.  It worked out pretty well for us and the smoke was good.

Thanks guys. This time around I am going to go with the smokehouse apple. I did a test run on Monday and got 5 hours of good smoke with a steady temp at 120/125.

I'm thinking this should work out OK. I HOPE I HOPE I HOPE!!!!
