Post by: rlhegge on April 03, 2013, 11:45:51 am
Trying to find a source for red oak that I can use in my smoker to create the Santa Maria style of Tri-Tip?  Please e-mail me at "rlh2073@gmail.com" with any recommendations.

I just bought red oak Mojo Bricks at BBQ Island. Did a tasty job of smoking my Easter ham. :P

I know fruitawoodchunks.com (http://fruitawoodchunks.com) sells Red Oak at $27 for a 10lb delivery....with free shipping.  The price goes down if you want more.

We use it on our brisket....great product.
