Trader Joe's has a big display of charcoal just outside the doors. It's called Trader Joe's hardwood Briquettes and is priced at $6.99 for $18 lbs. It says made in Mexico is speculated to be the same as the Rancher's Original Hardwood Briquettes they used to carry.

Thanks for the heads up... Looks like some good reviews! I'll have to give them a try soon.

I really like this stuff!!! It burns a long time and the last couple times I used it I have a quite bit left in the basket. It's very efficient

I bet it is. Trader Joe's stuff is usually featured because it is something new or seasonal. But with this being a holiday grilling weekend, I bet they have plenty of bags stacked up.

I was in Bevmo today and was surprised to see that they had Lazzari charcoal on display in the window. I didn't stop to check the price.

Is it a named brand or under Trader Joe's, they are about to open a store in Utah, (or so the word is), and I'd like to use it if possible?

I think it might not yet sold. I am really interested to buy this hardwood. It is really useful because it helps to burn for a long time and we can store it for a long time as well.
