I can't figger out how to make it play like a video here. Right Click, open in a new tab or window, it'll take ya to photobucket.

That would be the Fourth of July...I wasn't even cooking Firecracker Shrimp!

Looks like a lot of mesquite dust. It can give you that snap, crackle, pop. :o
Kitch, you ought to get a job doing FX for the movies; maybe "The Last Airbender." That was some fancy dancing sparks!  >:D;)

That's El Diablo, from Costco Business Center at 33rd Av/Indian School. Lots of chunks nearly as big as my wrist and forearm. Smacked 'em with a 2# maul to make normal sized pieces. There wasn't lots of dust on those pieces, and it's not normally that active!

I use Best of the West lump with no problems so far. Not bad for the price. Wouldn't hurt to try it yourself for fifteen bucks, huh?

I've used it too. I like it. But this stuff is virtually the same--ok, a little sparkier--and it's $10. And Rest. Depot also sells a 40# bag of mesquite lump for $10.81. This Diablo does seem to spark and pop more'n BOTW, but this one batch was an order of magnitude worse than I'd previously experienced. It was fun!
