What kind are you looking for?

I would suggest calling our sponsor, BBQ Island, they have lots of great Lump Charcoal and if they don't have what you are looking for, they will order it in.

Costco Business Center on Indian School and Grand sells 20# bags of (Likely) El Diablo, and they only want $10 a bag. The one I got was 40% dust, but still more charcoal for $10 than most...maybe. Someone said I should get a bag off the top of the pallet.

For cooking, lower and slower. For spices, mo' hotter, mo' better. Habaneros rule!

Smart and Final has 40# bags of Best of the West lump... but it's more like small logs.

The 40lb. sacks at Smart & Final run about $15. Mexican markets like Food City and Ranch Market carry mesquite lump is various sized bags. A few weeks ago I picked up some 8lb. bags for less per lb. than the more unwieldy 40lb. bags I usually get. But usually the bigger the bag the larger the lumps.

I just checked the ads and Pro's Ranch Markets have 7lb. bags, two for $5. That's the equivelant of 28lbs for $10 or 42 lbs. for $15.

Thanks for the heads up on that, next time will probably buy smaller... Yeah, I had quite an adventure when I opened the 40lb bag to find out the size of the chunks/logs. How the heck am I going to get these going on my ProQ Excel 20?!?!?! I dug through the bag and found some small/med pieces for the chimney then got those nice and hot. Put them down first then put some of the larger pieces over the top and let it heat up with the cover off for about 20 minutes. Cooked like a champ for my chicken and stayed at temp both days for 8 hours + (not that I needed it that long for the chicken) but it was nice to see it keep the temp.
