I bought a big green egg last week! I found it on Craig’s list and it is in excellent condition! The people selling it are an older couple and they are moving. They did not want to move the egg to their new place. They also had a bunch of accessories that they just gave me.

The other cool thing that happened is once I got the egg loaded up they said they also had the Mini EGG. They asked me if I wanted it as well. I asked them how much and they said they would just give it to me if I wanted it! So I walked out of there with a large egg, mini egg and a whole bunch of accessories for $250.00!! Major score!!

Awesome DDog....  Post some pictures of them when you get them set up.

Does this mean that you are going to bring them out and compete in November now??

DDog,

Man that is a great score.  I used the XL BGE in Taylor for the first time and I am thinking that the Large and mini would be easier to carry.   But the BGE got lots of questions from the crowds.

PS - Used some of your Apple Rub on my ribs that got an 8th place in taylor.

Looks good, what does the Mini look like??  Man $250, I would have bought that.

I have been using a Kamado for years and I love the ceramic cookers.  Downside, is that they are heavy to move.

Go out to eggheadforum.com for more info.  The site is a little hard to read, but a lot of activity all about BGE's.

Thanks for the compliment on the 8th place finish.  This was our first real comp, so the call felt real good.  The wife got a 5th in anything but.  I think she is hooked.  ;D

Thats a smokin deal Darrin ! Will you be using that at the Rawhide comp ? I have never cooked on one of those ,but I will be curious to see how it does in competition .It doesn't look like alot of surface area, so you would have to use another smoker with it at a competition, wouldn't you ?

It is about the same size as a WSM as far as the grill inside. I would need at least one more smoker to compete with. Plus I have not had enough time to cook on the egg to get a feel for it yet. I will report back and take pictures when I do!! ;D
