Title: Burnt ends
Post by: bearbonez on August 09, 2008, 03:24:05 pm
The recipe is about as simple and as tasty as it gets.

After cooking your favorite brisket recipe, save some to cube up into bout 1/2" pieces, place in a foil pan and put back in smoker for 2 hours. Toss with you favorite BBQ sauce to coat and place back into smoker for another 2 hours. Heap a pile of the meat on a burger bun or kaiser roll and dig in.

Sounds great, I love the burnt ends. I made burnt end chili from a brisket a friend made. Darn good chili. Also, I was at a BBQ joint in San Jose Calif and asked for burnt ends. They asked what do you mean burnt ends. I walked out.

Which BBQ Rest was that in SJ>  I grew up in SJ (36 years, man i'm getting old) and the only decent BBQ was out of my backyard.   ;D

Now that said, I come to AZ 3 years ago and I find all the BBQ'ers in Cali, go figure.

More like Chopped Brisket.  ;D

No disrespect meant, but I find it funny that I now know more BBQ people in Cali, then I did when I lived there.

See Mike, you opened the world of BBQ to me.  First person I met at a cook off was you, while Thom was preparing the Drummette with white Sauce for turn in (WTF  ;D).  Then I attended the QN4U class and promptly lost my mind.  Bought three cookers, built one, a Toy Hauler to move it, a Truck to pull it.  :o

Man this is ALL YOUR FAULT!!!   ;D

I think you could chop Cali into 3 or 4 countries....and Texas  anytime I found my self in Texas I only had one goal...get out ASAP. LOL.  I did have good mexican food in Laredo once.

I'd like to have the franchise for speed cameras on the 405 and the 101...Even just in LA county! That'd support 2 hobbies or so. Even if one was collecting American Muscle cars!
