Anyone found a UDS stand...other than bricks / blocks? Something moderately cost effective? I'm just looking to get my UDS's off the ground a little while smoking.

How tall are you?  If you get it up too high, it may be difficult to reach if the operator is short.

You might try a drum dolly from Harbor Freight or Northern Tool.

It will raise the drum a few inches as well as increase portability.

Twin UDS: Blue

Try a drum dolly. If the wheels can't take the heat remove 'em and use the mounts.

Old gas BBQ frame.  They go for free of craigslist all the time.

Holy Moly Kid thats a great idea! I've got mine on a 2'x2' slab but I like the idea of using the old frame cause it'll give you a couple of side tables to use. That and it helps reduce, reuse, and recycle junk that'll go to the land fill. Oh no! I sound like on of them dope smok'n, granola eat'n, sheep herd'n hippies!  8)

I'm working on one now that has a working side burner; I am hoping to keep it as a chimney starter!

I'm using an 18 inch concrete round under mine.  Only reason I use it, is so the ring on the bottom of the drum doesn't stain the patio.  (Sterling has about 3 dozen rust-rings on his patio.)

Currently cooking with a newly built UDS,(thanks to Skouson, my brother) which is my current best smoker.  I've also got a Weber Performer, also from Sterling.  My brothers think I'm CRAZY.  (Strangely, they're right.)
