well took me about 3 months to get this UDS where it is today. Started by burning it out then welded on some legs then had it sandblasted then assembly I still need to weld on handles on the side they are going to be wood handles attached to 1 inch X 1/8th inch flat stock I'm just going to bend it into a L then drill a hole for the screw (approximately 3-4 inches from the drum) then weld them on. Also I need to make a wood handle for the top. As you can tell I used a Webber grill top and only have 1 rack for now but ill be adding a second 6 inches above the current one. The charcoal box consists of a 18inch Webber grill bottom a sheet of 12x48 16 gauge expanded metal and a bunch of stainless steal screws to lift it and to keep the shape of the box. The legs are made from 3 inch stainless steel exhaust pipe roughly 6 inches long to keep the ladies at bay.

cost:
$15  drum
$45  Webber top
$22  Expanded metal
$16  18 inch bottom grate
$20  22.5 inch top grate (x2)
$28    hardware/ misc
$25  sand blasting
$20  Paint

$211 Total

Nice job. Looks like you'll be happy with the out come. The one thing about it is, you finish this one, and you'll be starting another. Enjoy your cooker.
