It looks like you've got one hell of a start on something nice. The real trick to it will be how well you can control the temp, and how well it holds the temp. But it looks like you've got a great design and start.

haha, it has been a BARREL of fun with losin my job few months ago it has been a huge stress relief... not usin anyone's plans, just my eyes a tape measure recip saw and buncha grindin wheels and weldin wire....oh and a BFH i make lotsa noise workin on this thing O0 O0 O0

Kevin, you'll fit in fine around here. I've been out of work since June. Others on the board have been out longer, and some shorter than that. I like your design, especially what you did with the door. Interested to hear how the finished unit works.

ya, thanks fer the encouragement, i hope to land job this week then i'll be able to afford to finish up the grill grate,... will be the only thing besides weldin wire i had to buy fer this thing here's hopin, cuz i wanna smoke up some stuff two weeks ago!!!!

Very nice looking design wise. I've been thinking about trying to make a smoker from scratch for myself but the problem I have is a lack of tools to do the work that I will need to do, i.e. welder!
