My wife and I will be heading to Berry Bros. on Washington Street to get some cooking woods saturday morning, and thought it would be good to get some lunch at one of the local BBQ joints in the area.  Anyone have a recommendation as to which ones to visit (or which one to stay away from  >:D).

Yea, Haps is right there and they are good, you have Kinfolks in Scottsdale, they are good.

Honeybears on Central is good.

Let us know where you decide to go and what you had and how you liked it.  ;)

There is also a Honey Bear location on Van Buren not far from Berry Bros. but Kinfolk's at Thomas and Hayden in Scottsdale is worth the drive and the wait until he opens at 11:00AM.

I left it up to the wife, and she wanted BigCityBBQ....so that's where we went.  It was definitely worth driving in all that traffic to get some really good BBQ!  I normally don't drive up in the valley if I can avoid it, too many crazy people with cars for my tastes, but I would do it again if it meant more BBQ!  My wife had the hot link sandwich with a side of black-eyed peas and fried okra, and I had the ribs with slaw and beans.  The food was so good....it's like this...if I was to put the food on top my head, my tongue would slap my brains out trying to get to it!  The sauce was fantastic too.  I was eating the sauce right off the plate it was so good!  ;D  I liked the paper towel rolls on the tables....good idea!  The staff was great...very friendly and helpful with any problems we might have had.  I enjoyed talking with Joe about the food, BBQing and such.  So much I could learn there.  Definitely 1000% enjoyed it!

Great to hear you had a great lunch, I wish I would have known you were going there, I was right around there all day.

Joe is a great guy and very knowledgable, a great guy.

So, how much and what kind of wood did you get??

Did you tell them AZBarbeque sent you and get your 10% discount??
