Hey all, our good friends over at the Gym Grill & Bar had me out to try some of their grub yesterday.
I packed a bag, hit up Mapquest and took the trek all the way out to their first location in Queen Creek. It was a haul, but it was certainly worth it.
When I arrived, the first thing I noticed was the fantastic looking location they were in, everything is brand new out there and they certainly look impressive. I then noticed that they had their great looking Diamond Plate FAT 50 smoker out in front smoking away. Boy did it smell incredible walking up to the door. I love walking into a BBQ place and smelling it before I get there. Now that's TRUE BBQ.
I was told before I went that I had to try their BBQ wings appetizer. Well, I'm a known Wing-a-holic and I love BBQ, so it seemed like great fit.
I was not dissappointed. Those were some incredible wings. I wish I had ordered a few orders of them, but I wanted to save some room for their infamous Kolbe Burger and once again, I was not dissappointed. They cooked it to order and it was incredible.
Talking with Frank, the owner over there, he was telling me that they do all sorts of BBQ specials throughout the month. From $3 Pulled Pork Sandwiches to $5 brisket sammies. A great deal for sure. I will have to make sure to get back out there for one of those special days.
They currently have two more locations being built, one right by the Cardinal's Stadium which I fully plan on visiting on a regular basis (Frank, put my name on one of the bar stools) and one in Case Grande.
They have also just signed on as one of our top site sponsors which we greatly apprecaite. They are some great people over there and they wanted to make sure to give back to the BBQ community by helping support the site and what we do here for the BBQ Community throughout the state.
The Gym's new location out by the Cardinal's Stadium will be the host to our first ever Diamond Plate Smoker Cook-off currently planned for late September. We hope to see you all out there for that event as well.
