Has anyone else eaten at this place?

I've eaten there twice and have to say it was outstanding!  I don't know too much about Carolina BBQ, but the owner (George) was more than happy to explain.  Had the pulled pork, fried catfish, hushpuppies, collard greens, ribs.  Even serve "red" cool-aid.

I would be interested in hearing anyone else's opinion of the place.  51st Ave and Olive.

First I have heard about this resturant, is it new?  Is it just a BBQ Place?  Do they have a web site?

I think it is about 2 years old, if memory serves correctly.  Strictly a BBQ joint (advertized as Soul Food) in a little strip mall SE corner of 51st and Olive.  Nothing to look at, has about 5 tables inside.

Web site used to be www.restaurant28bbq.com but I tried it lately and it doesn't work.  Place is still open though, as far as I know.  I think 'll go back this coming week to make sure.

I just came from "28". They have a fish fry on Fridays, Tilapia, snapper or CATFISH and 2 sides for $4.99. DW had the catfish/shrimp combo plate, T ordered meat loaf, but they were out; she got chopped beef sandwich. I want their catfish as my final meal. I don't know what else to say. That was some mighty fine eating. Wife and kid split a peach cobbler, and it was like watching 2 starving coyotes fight over a rare T-bone! Extensive menu. Wasn't terribly full for a Friday night; many tables open, but the kitchen and the staff were goin' nuts with some large take out orders. But next time I'll get the cajun catfish. Or maybe some Q. SE corner of  51st Avenue and Olive (Dunlap). Big place nowadays. See the "crawl" thread on it, too.

For cooking, lower and slower. For spices, mo' hotter, mo' better. Habaneros rule!
