Here are your choices on the ballot for best BBQ:
Bobby Q
Rudy's Country Store and BBQ
Famous Dave's
Honey Bear's BBQ
Joe's Real BBQ

WTF? No Little Miss BBQ or Q-To-U or Texas BBQ House? :-\

What is really strange is that the New Times themselves recently wrote a glowing review of Little Miss BBQ. You'd think that their restaurant critic would weigh in on who should be on the ballot. :-\

Unfortunately, I think the die is cast in that they have printed ballots as well as online voting. But that doesn't preclude LMBBQ's Scott or Q-To-U's David from giving them a buzz or email. 8)

I have all but given up on New times coming to Anthem.  The old school in PHX thinks Anthem is part of Utah.  I'm not kidding I have ran into so many people that say, oh Anthem all the way up there.  and in the next breath, they will say they go to the carefree Highway all the time, but Anthem no way.  That is 3 miles further.  Maybe if I move three exits closer I will get some love??

Oh well, we will just continue to cook the  best bbq we can??

Eh. My opinion is that things are handed out like the New Times BOP People's Choice is that it comes down to a popularity contest. Those 5 places are big and have been around awhile. I believe to make the list of choices there is an open suggestion period when people can nominate nominees and obviously the well known places are going to get those nominations. I'd much rather get the editors pick or another thing that isn't based upon votes which is a marketing and social media game. I'm too busy making barbecue and pies to worry too much about that. I'm sure David and Karen along with Mike over at Texas BBQ House feel the same way.
