Kinfolk BBQ

Last night while out working, I decided to drop in on Kinfolks BBQ on Thomas and Hayden. Ordered "The Pig", its a very generous amount of pulled pork on a homemade bun. Very tasty. They do a sweet sauce with just a touch of pepper. When you sit down at your table the give you a serving of cornbread for starters. This seemed to be a very nice touch, as did the 6pc sample plate of pork and beef. In all, I liked the rustic yet quaint feel of the place. The food was very good. Service was good as well. I didn't tell them I was an AZBBQ member until payout. By the way Mike, they said "Hi". Good place to go back too.

Yea, Ivan is the owner over there and he is a great guy.  I haven't been there in a while, but they do have some good BBQ there and Ivan has some great stories.

If you go in there, make sure to tell them you are an AZBarbeque member.

Just went by Kinfolk today to catch a bite for lunch. They are closed down. Big "For Lease" sign in the window. That sucks, I was really looking forward to making this a regular stop for lunch. Well, at least I got a taste before they shut the doors.

Aww. Booo. I never got there. I made a couple service calls to that Osco/CVS, but never ate at Kinfolk. That sucks.

For cooking, lower and slower. For spices, mo' hotter, mo' better. Habaneros rule!

Mike - Is Ivan still planning on selling the place? Has he budged on price?

New!
I went to Kinfolk all the time.  When I saw last week that it was closed, I was incredibly disappointed.  Their pulled pork was amazing, and so was their sauce.  Their spicy fries were also great, although they seemed to be inconsistent in the way they tasted from visit to visit.  Had I known he was closing up shop, I would have hoarded a few gallons of that sauce!  The portions were huge and we always had leftovers to enjoy later.
