I've been remiss in my reporting duties! I was driving my bright green Crown Vic (Discount Cabs!) about 2 weeks past, and a fare took me out to Avondale. I'd heard about a BBQ joint out there, so I started looking for a place to eat. I didn't find the specific place I was hunting, I found Fritzi's Heart and Soul BBQ. Located on Dysart Rd south of the Home Depot Plaza, Fritzi's is closed Sundays and Mondays. The restaurant had some nice pictures on the wall of blues musicians and concert posters. I had a pulled pork sandwich and a side of Mac and Cheese. The pork was tasty, and the M&C was fantastic. The other thing that struck me, was the food was hotter than I get at home out of the microwave!! Oliver cooks with pecan, I believe he said, and the aroma was wonderful. The pork was already mixed with BBQ sauce, but it complemented the flavors nicely.
I'm giving Fritzi's Heart and Soul BBQ 2 thumbs up.

For cooking, lower and slower. For spices, mo' hotter, mo' better. Habaneros rule!
