Years ago, when the original owner had it, the food was quite good.  The second owner pulled out the old smoker (I think the door foe feeding wood into it is still on the side of the building).  We ate there a few years ago (yet another owner), and the food was just about inedible.  So, no loss, in my opinion.

That's too bad it fell apart. I remember going to it decades ago as one of Arizona's few nationally noted BBQ spots. If I remember correctly, it was considered the birthplace of the Sloppy Joe. It's too bad nobody with a love of real BBQ will take it over and bring it back to its roots. It sounds like the damage has been done.
