Title: Campfire Bistro
Post by: akurasch on April 18, 2012, 01:22:54 pm
Guys and Gals,

This place is a must.  Just opened @ Tom Thumb's gas station @ 9393 E. Bell Road in Scottsdale.  Haven't even had their grand opening yet (weekend of 4/28-4/29).

Got the 2 meat platter of with pork and brisket.  Both were perfectly tender and a nice punch of smoke flavor.

For the side I had the shoestring fries.  Warning: They are highly addictive.

They have a counter with a wide variety of sauces.  I didn't put any on the meat because when the meat is that good, sauce can only ruin it in my mind.  However, I did use them to dip the fries in and they really had some interesting unique flavors.  Try the Low Country, the Texas, and regular sauces.

TWO HUGE THUMBS UP HERE!

Shouldn't that be two Tom Thumbs up? ;)

What kind of smoker did they have?

Went there today... This place ROCKS! I got a Cuban sandwich. The pulled pork had a nice smokey flavor and the fries were great... Everything I saw come out of the kitchen looked great and the brisket had a nice smoke ring. Which means it wasn't cooked in an oven!

Cheers!

I gotta check it out. I would kill for a good Cuban sandwich done properly.

Oh Man...They have oyster sandwiches dressed with remoulade (aka po' boy style) about the only sandwich I like even better than a Sanduiche Cubano.  :P

I have meetings a couple of times each month in that neck o' the woods. Gotta check it out!
