Title: Big Tex BBQ in Willcox
Post by: Mr.Bo on November 27, 2010, 08:16:52 pm
I made another trip to Safford today by way of Willcox and passed Big Tex Bar B Que for probably the 20th time. I finally managed to time the trip back through Willcox around lunch time today so I went in and ordered a combo plate with ribs and brisket with a side of cole slaw and pinto beans. The plate came with 4 nice sized, meaty ribs that had a nice smoke ring. They were great and needed no part of the sauce that was served on the side. The brisket was another story though. I could see no sign of a smoke ring on either of the two large slices that I had, it was a little dry and didn't set my taste buds off. Sadly I did use some of the side sauce for the biggest part of the brisket. The beans were classic pintos, very flavorful with no chunks of anything in them to dice up the flavor. They reminded me of my Mom's beans and I liked them. The cole slaw was pretty good too but not over the top. So today, two of four products were awesome, one pretty good and one not so good. Based on that, I will go back and try it at least one more time when I get the chance.

Anyone else tried this place?
