Not really any in Scottsdale.  Several close to Scottsdale.

What are you looking for?  Ribs, Pork, Brisket?

Scottsdale has Tom Thumbs Market which is in the NE area but I think it's easily the best in Scottsdale.

It's not bias if it's true right?  :)

Tom's Thumb easily the best in Scottsdale.  Brisket and Pork are great, I'd look for ribs elsewhere.

I'm meeting a business buddy there tomorrow. He's a Texan who invited me, saying they finally have the kind of brisket he's been looking for years to find. Who am I to pass up on a free lunch? ;)

Let us know what you think of it Mark. I had the brisket sandwich and thought it was good. It's not Texas top 5 worthy but it's a decent / good brisket. Speaking of which, we need a Pellini update.

I had the brisket sandwich at Tom's Thumb and it was very good. Moist and tender, nice smoke ring, well-trimmed and perfect thickness on the slices. I saw a stack of mesquite and pecan wood for smoke. Whoever is managing the pit knows what they are doing. Nice selection of sauces too. Thin Carolina, hickory, mustard, habanero and a XXX hot sauce which I tried. Nice diversity. All pretty good. My buddy is an avid viewer of BBQ Pitmasters and wants to get a smoker. I told him that I would take him to BBQ Island next week to see the great selection of products they carry.

Thanks for asking about Pellini, Scott. Everything is going reasonably well. I was tweaking the menu descriptions today. Some seemed like we were giving the recipe rather than giving a description. But now that we are building a lot of return customers that already have favorites, we can simplify things to keep the line moving along.

I'm glad things are going well Mark. It seems as if the Yelp reviews are holding strong which is a great thing. Since you unleashed the concept I always though that if I was actually smart and didn't have a BBQ tapeworm running around my brain I would just get a franchise from you and open it over by 22nd and Camelback. I think you have a winner.
