Appetites BBQ has officially opened thier doors for business.  ;D Chris & I went there for dinner last night and it was great! Rodney, Joy, Richard & Noel have worked hard to get this dream up and running. Please support them in this venture.
When you are on the West side of PHX and want some great BBQ, go to Appetites BBQ. You won't regret it.  :-*http://www.appetitesbbq.com (http://www.appetitesbbq.com) :-*

Wow, that's great news.  I can't wait to get out there and see the new place.

Congrats to Rodney, Joy, Richard & Noel, we wish you the best with your new venture.

Now we have to plan an AZBarbeque social out there.  ;)

Good to hear that there is some (hopefully) good KC BBQ back in town, after Lovejoy's plummeted into mediocre hell. (at best.)

I'll be on the west side tomorrow as it turns out, looks like I got lunch planned!

Every time I come down, Rodney puts me to work while I'm here.  I guess that it's to pay for my room and board?  Well this time I'm working in the restaurant and love it.  Meeting lots of goof folks and enjoying my time here.  Rodney and I were cooking partners as "Smokin' Nations BBQ Team" before he deserted me to come to Phoenix.  I got over it.  Stop by and visit when you can, you will enjoy it.  John

John, great to see you posting.

Are you to blame for all this great weather we are having today?

Can't wait to see you again.  Hopefully I can stop by next week for lunch.  Can't wait to see the new place.

Good luck with it and I'm sure Rodney is enjoying your help and support...

I am so going here for lunch one day.  I drive past it about ten times a day.  It is by work and the kids therapy place.  In between the two actually.  Yum Yum!!!

I was in there on Thursday, had the Brisket and slaw, my buddy had brisket and fries.  The brisket was very good, although I didn't realize I was ordering a brisket sandwich, next time I'll get a plate.  And I'll have to give the ribs a go as well.  I got some spicy sauce on the side that was excellent.

The folks working that day were very friendly, the cook even came out to see how everything was.  Since I used to live in KC and I am a big Chiefs fan, the decor was very welcoming for me.  There are table outside, so this time of year it's nice to sit al fresco.

Good luck on the new place.  I am sure you will do well!

Hey John,

Didn't know this was you guys!   Please Please Please tell me that you're still going to be serving out at the Royal's games during Spring Training.   It was the only Q I was eating that I didn't have to cook.

I always thought it would be cool to have KC BBQ served on one side of the Surprise ball park and Texas BBQ served on the other.

Wonder why that never occured to any one in the promotions department.

Might be your calling, Marty!

wish I had the time and money.

If John's still out at the stadium this year, I'll stick with that.

Rodney is the man!  I was only there helping and enjoying everything, not to say that I lost 15 pounds doing it.  Appetites grand opening is the weekend of the 19th.  Fantastic BBQ and Blues, I understand that they are trying to get Big Pete Pearson and his band for the festivities.  I hear they are going to close off part of the parking lot for eating, listening and dancing.  John

Hey all, I stopped by Appetites today for their Grand Opening and WOW, what a great time I had.   They had one incredible setup out there with lots of tables set up in the parking lot and a live band and prize give a ways.  Lots of fun happening out there and Rodney and his entire crew were incredibly friendly and ready to help everyone out.

There was a constant line at the counter and everyone was raving on how great the BBQ was, so if any of you get the chance to stop out there, I highly recommend it.

I had their Pulled Pork Sandwich and it was incredible.   I can't wait to go back and try more of the items on the menu.  I met up with Jim Gold of Heartland BBQ there and he invited me to sit with him, his wife and some of their friends and we had a great time catching up.

Stop by the Resturant, say "Hello" to Rodney and make sure you come back here and let us all know what you had and how you liked it.

Way to go Rodney, Congrats on your new endeavor and we wish you the best of luck.   ;)

Well, we went to Rodney's place today for our 3rd Annual AZBarbeque BBQ Crawl and I have to say, it was a great experience and a very tasty one.

Appetites offered up a special platter for our members today and I just had to take advantage of it.  It consisted of a half rack of ribs, a 1/4 pound of Pork, a 1/4 pound of Brisket and 2 sides.  I got BBQ Beans and Onion Rings.

Everything was perfect.  The pork and Brisket were served over bread, which reminds me of the great BBQ places you see on TV, so that was a huge hit with me.  The pork was moist, had great smokey flavor and had just enough sauce on it.  The brisket had a great smoke ring and was very tender, the way brisket should be.  I tried his spicy sauce on it and WOW was that great.  The ribs had a great honey/maple flavor and a half rack just wasn't enough.  The BBQ beans were very tasty and a huge hit.  The Onion rings were big, golden brown and tasted great.

Overall, this was a fantastic meal and I'm sure we will be back many times.  I HIGHLY Recommend Appetites to anyone looking for a great, authentic Kansas City Style Barbeque Restaurant.

Thanks again Rodney.  You, your family and your staff were incredible.  Your hospitality and food were out of this world.  ;)  Thank you also for donating those great Appetites Gift Certificates for us to use in our door prize raffle for our members, everyone wanted to win those.  Can't beat gift certificates to great Kansas City Style BBQ.  ;)

This was the 3rd or 4th time I ate at Appetites and never disappointed.  The pulled pork and brisket was great (wish I could of had more brisket but had to share) as where the baked beans (but not as good as Tom's from Whiskey Ranch but a close second).  The only down side for me was the ribs, could have been done a little more to tight to the bone but a heck of a lot better than mine.  Will be there next week again.  Had a Great time as well as the two friends I brought.

Had my wife, daughter and her two friends for lunch at Rodney's.  Everyone really liked their food and I had the hot links (WOW).  Of course hanging out with Rodney is always fun.  He told me he has a good chance of have a consession booth at the ASU games.  Hope he gets it.

Met Chris Barnes, Jim Gold & Tom Duncan over at Appetites today and had some lunch, it was great as usual.  Rodney is a great guy and it's always a great experience going to Appetties.

If you get a chance, make sure you stop over there and let them know you are with AZBarbeque.

They have a phone in and if it is real close and you are nice to Rodney, I bet something could be worked out.  Either that or buy for the whole office and I am sure Rodney would deliver.
