brauts

Not much talk about brauts, and was wondering how others cooked theirs.
I take one onion and slice it up, put it in a fry pan with a can of beer. Take the brauts and poke a few small hole in them( I know thats against the rules but it helps soak up the beer )Boil the brauts for about 15 minutes in beer- onion mix, then I throw them on the grill to brown them up and finish cooking them. Serve them with saurkraut and mashed potatoes, mmm mmm good. My wife is full blooded german and she even loves them. The onions are good if you brown them in foil on the griil after using them with the brauts.
Any other ways to serve up brauts???

Ah, I love a good Beer Braut..

I typically slice up a few onions, put them in a pot of boiling beer along with my Brauts, let them boil for about 15 - 20 minutes, then brown them up on the grill.

I love the way they come out and taste, but I have also been to Germany many times and I have to say, I love the way they cook up the different brauts there.  German food rocks....  :o

I boil mine in beer, onionsd and butter for 15-20 mins and brown em up on the grill. I use regular hot dog buns, I would rather have more brats than bun anyday!!! I actually use a mustard based bbq sauce I make here on em.

I prefer to grill them straight up. If I am cooking alot, than i have a pan on the grill with beer, garlic and onions. I like em on a bun with a lil bit of mustard and some kraut.
