Hey guys, I was out east this last week and got to meet one of the teams from Mass. You might remember the pics I posted of their competition in the snow after the Ass Kickin event.

We talked BBQ for quite a while and it seems that they do things a little different out there. He told me that all the teams use a product called Fab to inject the meat with, and if you want to compete at their level you have to use it as well. It was explained to me as gravy on steriods.

I have never heard of this stuff, but from what I was told, you really wouldn't want to eat it. :-\ I was just wondering if any of you have ever heard of it, or used it?

I was also told that the KCBS has tried to ban its use.

Yes, I have seen it and seen people use it.  It is some serious gravy on steriods.  I have not experminted with it myself, but I know a few people have.

Interesting how different regions cook different ways.
