azchocktaw, What brand of grill is that? Amazingly this morning i stopped at a resell store on my way home from work and found the same grill exept it had a stainless steel top! It was in great shape without any rust and they are asking $24 - it's mine on the way home today!! That will make 25 or so on the grill/pit count ! I may have to see a DR  for this disease, DR of bbq that is! :D

Where are you flatlanders getting your wood chunks from? :D And doesn't your beer get a little hot that way? ;)

Plenty of pecan available here...BBFW and the guy on 16th St. and Greenway (Aire Libre) always have it, and so does Glowing Embers, but he's on call for orders greater than $75 during the summer. Those are my main sources. If I have an emergency, I can get chunks at KMart or Wally World.

For cooking, lower and slower. For spices, mo' hotter, mo' better. Habaneros rule!
