Mini, quick brat sausage poppers

Tried something new since we were in a hurry at Havasu Lake comp for group feed.....took some sliced brats and topped with sliced Jalepnos, then dropped in some Jack cheese and dust with bbq rub......Tada!!!

That really is a great looking appetizer. I like how you can pre-assemble them, pop 'em in the smoker and even serve them straight out of the pan, toothpick ready. Regular poppers are twice the work and gone in seconds after you put them out. Looks like you got fifty or so right there. That's the way to feed a crowd! 8)

By the way, when I cut the tops and tips off of jalapenos, I just toss them as I go to pickle in my hot pepper jar. Great way to use them up and enjoy later.

Mark good idea about leftover Jalepeno tops!!

One thing I didn't say in origional post was the brats were cooked prior to slicing...
