26lbs soaked all night in a Kiwi, Pear, Chili powder, Galic and Apple cider vinegar mixture without salt. Been on the smker since 6am with 2 1.5 taters. Never smoked a tater, but they were so big I thought why not?! :D

Came out great, really really moist and great flavor. I was not sure about the mix, but it worked great. The meat was flavorful and is holding it's moisture even this morning. The mix came about, because it's what we had leftover from our produce basket we had recieved the week before. (just started with a co-op group called Bountiful Baskets, for $25 you get two weeks of fresh fruit and produce) Pretty cheap and better than the store.

I took the excess mix and reduced it down with more garlic, worchestershire, tapatio, mustard, kethcup and honey. Came out awesome! I'm not a fan of fruit based brines, but had great success last year with a citrus brine, so I thought I'd experiment. I'm going to try this on a pork butt next! :P

Bountiful Baskets is pretty cool.  My wife starting getting them a couple of weeks ago.  She even started a blog with recipes from the stuff we get in the basket.  Check it out: http://www.bountifulcuisine.blogspot.com/

Great lookin' turkey. I bet the taters were good too!

As for Bountiful Baskets, my wife liked them so much we volunteered to coordinate a new location in Central Scottsdale near Saguaro High.

I like the idea of using the fruit for a brine...will have to try that. Might be some interesting stuffing for a fatty or a smoked pork loin too. We have some pineapple still hanging around.

For cooking, lower and slower. For spices, mo' hotter, mo' better. Habaneros rule!
