Fried Green Tomatoes

Anyone have good recipe for Fried Green Tomatoes?  I can find some on the net, but I want someone who says they got it right! Thx!

Those do sound good.  I'm sure Bear or some of our other great members have some great Recipes..

my guess from watching my mom would be green tomatoes, slice 1/4inch, flour seasoned to taste. crisco in a black cast iron and fry till lightly browned. light salt when you take them out HOT!

best getting them from the fruit stands, but I've seen them in the markets as well.  whole foods , Henry's, it's not quite time for the fresh ones locally,. AZ or so cal. don't be confussed with tomatio's...not the same thing at all

only thing you leftout was to dip them in egg..then cover with the flour...same thing Ya do for fried Squash.
