Crash, sometimes people don't like the in your face approach. But sometimes it's needed to motivate people to become involved. Sometimes it's easier to give to United Way and hide your head in the sand. It's very sad. Sometimes good people just don't want to know.
I must have missed this post Mark. I do 100% agree with what you are saying and have found myself in this situation as well. Unfortunately, when we dont know or understand a condition, disease or illness we tend to avoid discussion on the topic at all.
I used to find myself doing this a lot, mostly because I was concerned about saying the wrong thing or asking the wrong questions. The reality is that most people that deal with a condition, disease or illness at any level are usually more than willing to discuss and answer any questions.
