I have read that 3 or 4 current players are transferring out and an assistant coach quit.  Combined with ASU's best 4 players graduating or going pro, how will ASU be able to keep from being the PAC-12 bottom feeder next year, and the year after, and the year after, and....................?

Still licking the wounds of getting bumped out too soon with the "best Wildcats team ever," eh? Don't worry. Next year's crop of one n' doners will have you back in the upper echelon of the PAC-12 next year. It's how top college basketball programs works. Just ask the other Wildcat coach Calipari.

Actually I had to look up who left the ASU program and I hadn't heard of any of them. And yeah, ASU will be a completely different looking team next year. http://www.azcentral.com/story/sports/college/asu/2014/04/10/arizona-state-basketball-loses-two-more-players/7567363/

If only ASU could do something like build a $350,000,000 palace to be the epicenter of American basketball that will attract the top high school, college and NBA players to train and see the glory and coeds at ASU. >:D Nah. That couldn't possibly have any impact at all. ;)

crop of one n' doners

So, now one player is a "crop".    Only first year player probable to leave is Aaron Gordon.  Very slight possibility that Hollis-Jefferson may.  Nick Johnson, probably gone but, then again, he has been here 3 years.

Always tough to lose in the NCAA tournament.  The road was made a lot tougher when we lost one of our best players half way through the season.  But, $h*t happens, right?  Just like it happened to the other #1 seeds.  At least we are pretty much a lock to get into the NCAA tournament next year and probably the favorite to -- again -- win the PAC-12.

ASU won't have a decent program -- ever -- with Sendek.  He is a great guy and a good coach.  But he just doesn't have the personality to be a consistently good recruiter, so he won't have a consistently good program.  But I haven't heard WHY so many players and an assistant coach jumped ship this year -- with lots of available playing time opening up next year.  Anything on the local news there?

But, like you said, Mark,  all the best players coming out of high school want to get to the NBA as quickly as possible.  I am encouraged that the NCAA and the NBA may be working toward requiring players to stay in college for at least two years.
