Hey all, this year's event in Springerville is once again going to be a BBQ Festival/Rib Burn/Social/Charity Event.
We will be doing just a Rib Only comp. The Fee to enter is just $25/team.
We are hoping to once again get all the ribs donated, we will post up more info as we lock this down.
The Event this year will be at 418 E. Main Street, Springerville, AZ. There is a large grassy area for trailers, its at the police department, there is a playground on location, water and electricity (110 Only).
Dates are: Labor Day weekend, August 31st - September 3rd, 2017
This will be our 3rd event like this and we are excited to be once again teaming up with the city of Springerville & Mike & Mary Nuttall.
I will also create a Facebook event page for this event, please help share & promote this event as we would love to have as many of our AZBarbeque members & BBQ Enthusists there as possible.
If you don't want to camp out, there are several hotels in Springerville.
The Rode Inn is once again a great sponsor for the event. Let them know you are with the BBQ Comp & Mike Nuttall & they will have a special rate for us.

Sorry if this is a newb question, this will be me and my buddies first competition. really excited any guidance would be greatly appreciated

The event is absolutely happening, just trying to lock down the final sponsor. You know how corporate things go. Have to get approvals.

Exciting news. Our Prize Fund for this event will be AT LEAST $2000.
WOW, for a $25 Entry Fee, Rib only comp that we give you the ribs.
This is unheard of.
Don't miss out.
If you have ever thought about competing, this is the best event to get your feet wet.
It's a very low stress event with lots of fun and all for a great cause.
Every team will make at least their entry fee back.
Payouts will depend on how many teams we get.
We will post up payouts about a week prior to the event.

This is open to Everyone, not just the Rib Competitors.
This will be held on Friday, September 1st at 6 pm at the event site.
Bring your best Appetizer and/or Dessert & see how it stacks up.
If you don't have a Dessert or Appetizer, but still want to join us, it's just a $5 donation to the charity.
You can't beat that. There will be lots of great food & desserts out there.

Had a few teams ask if they had to use the ribs we provide for their competition turn in.
Answer is "NO".
You are more than welcome to use your own ribs for turn ins as well as for the People's Choice.
If you need or want ribs, we will supply them. If you don't, use what you bring.
It's all good.
